What does it mean to truly be the church rather than simply attend it? That question sits at the heart of a powerful call to action rooted in the Great Commission found in Matthew 28:18-20, where Jesus declares that all authority in heaven and on earth belongs to Him and then commissions His followers to go, make disciples, baptize, and teach. The word 'go' is not passive. It is an activation of faith, a first step taken before we can even see the door on the other side of the horizon. We are reminded that Jesus did not earn his authority through popularity or miracles alone, but through His victory over sin, death, and the grave. And because we live and move under that delegated authority, the things God calls us to do carry a power that is not our own. The challenge placed before us is honest and direct: too many of us have settled into a spirit of religiosity, showing up without truly engaging, warming seats without operating in our God-given gifts. There is a place for each of us in the body of Christ, and until we step into that place, the mission is incomplete. Whether through prayer, generosity, encouragement, or direct evangelism, every member of the body has a function. The toes matter. When they stop doing their job, the whole body falls. This is our invitation to wake up, step out, and go.
